Today, at 09.00 I go to the Opening
Program Pre-Service-Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia( Sea-Teacher
Project) in some room. In there I met Filipphine students, maybe around 30
students are in the room, and
then met the head of student Affairs Ms.
Elizabeth Viridiano and the Mr. Jason Carlos the Principal Roosevelt College
Inc. Elementary Department, Stephen Jay co, Ed.D. ( Program Head, institute of
Education Under gradute
studies, FEU) and also we meet Ms. Dena S. Culaba (Assistant Dean, RCI) and
also another 7 student who join SEAMEO from Thailand and Indonesia, 3 student
from Thailand named Natchanee Monta (Dew), Sutharat Khamrat (Jam), Torfun Sayason (Ying) and 2 student from
Tadulako University, Palu, Sulawesi named Grace Novensari Manurung(Grace) &
Multazam(Cemul) and a student from UNLAM named
Dewi Rara Ayu Rani(Dewi) and my friend From Universitas Muhammadiyah University Purwokerto named Erlian Vasandani (Ian).

At 09.40 meeting opened by introduction
one by one from SEA-Teacher who came firstly to Roosevelt College Inc. After
that the principal of RCI opened the
meeting by reciting national anthem of Filipphine , the next one by one of the
principal are welcoming us with their speech
At 10.35 Erlian Vasandani and I give
special gift from UMP to RCI and also we took picture together with all
participant in that room.

11.00 the Principal and Us (SEA-Teacher
) had Brunch together in some room.

01.45 – 03.00 observation day 1 to Mr.
Miguel Paolo U. Yap class English 7 Science High School the school is consist
of 16 student. the material is about Literature, the approach using student
centered learning, the learning process run smoothly with the teacher ( Mr.
Yap) gives the material that not ready yet to explain and he asked the student
to explain that material one by one, after the student explain the material,
Mr. Yap explain it again to make it clear with the best conclusion every point
of material.
The
material is very different from Indonesia, the student in English Science study
literature (figurative language) than in Indonesia studied it just in case when they want to
do that in some university that they want to joined.
In
Filipphine the student are
free to use uniform, so that they are look comfortable to be active in the
classroom, perhaps there are so many student wore school uniform but it is okay
if they are not use that uniform and use what they want to use but still in
polite.
The
teacher also ask student to raise their hand to answer the teacher question ,
and mostly student are competing to raise their hands up in spite their teacher
asking to answer the question, is it quiet rare in Indonesia if students do
like that, just a few student who pointing them.
In
Science high the table are very unique and
it’s very different with Indonesia and also it’s make the teacher can
control what the student do while the learning process in the classroom.
After
the class was end, the teacher asked to the student “ is there any question?’
and a few student ask some question to the teacher and they answered them.
And
the teacher give student the next material to next meeting before he left the
class.
